The ‘Kaikaina’ sea glass ring is an open ring featuring a piece of frosted white or light lavender sea glass, and a faceted mooonstone or labradorite marquise gemstone.
Sea glass come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, making them so unique, and finding them all the more special!
White sea glass originates from items we still use today, such as food containers, liquor bottles, and Mason jars. Lavender/purple sea glass is a bit more rare, many coming from Pre-World War I glass containing manganese, a de-colorizer that. Some manganese decolorized bottles can date back to as early as the 1800’s and 1900’s.
Over a period of many years the glass made with manganese turns lavender when exposed to sunlight.
*Note* Please refer to the letter associated to the ring you wish to purchase. The sea glass is roughly 1.5” - 1” in length.
Care Instructions: These are solid 10k gold, which maintains its luster and shine quite naturally. If needed, you may polish gently with a polishing cloth.
